EPN GOTE: more than just a long acronym

Exploration and Production Norway: Global Operation Technology and Excellence (or EPN GOTE for short) provides operations, maintenance, and modification support to Equinor’s upstream offshore production areas.

Our colleagues play an essential role in ensuring operational efficiency, reduced CO2 emissions and a safe working environment across Norwegian and international exploration and production.

How do we do this? Through world-class infrastructure, investment in technology and the development of a highly competent and skilled workforce whose ambitions match our own.

We already have many engineers within marine technology, maintenance, rotating equipment, subsea technology, cyber security, automation and fiscal metering – to name a few - eager to provide technical know-how within their field of expertise. Now we need more.

We are looking for experienced engineers to join our teams in Stavanger, Bergen, Stjørdal and Harstad, as well as LCI engineers for our office in Oslo.

It’s not just a job; it’s a career

In Equinor your development begins from day one. You can build a career across several areas and countries. Our global operations and technology teams play an integral role in some of our most important and ambitious projects. That is why we support our engineers with plenty of training and development opportunities.

As an employee at GOTE, you will have the opportunity to work with innovative technology, collaborate and learn from colleagues across disciplines. You can also play a significant role in reshaping the energy landscape on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) and beyond.

Projects with different purposes

“In GOTE, we have a unique opportunity to contribute to the energy situation in Europe. The projects we are working on have different purposes; one can be to contribute to the regularity of oil and gas exports; another can be to reduce CO2 emissions on our offshore installations. To make this happen, we work together in teams to find the optimal solutions that will help our installations reach their goals and our company achieve its ambitions.”

Growth and development

“Working with subsea operations and maintenance, no two days are the same. One of my favourite things with my job is planning vessel operations to do maintenance tasks on our subsea systems. These are often considered routine tasks, but sometimes we have large, complicated assignments which also require a more hands-on approach and our presence offshore. The work is diverse, and we have a lot of responsibilities, but we can always be assured that we get great support from our colleagues. This is essentially the reason why newcomers experience such rapid development right from the start.”

Working in a highly skilled environment

“We have a highly skilled environment in GOTE where different people have different specialities. Some have extensive knowledge regarding specific installations or equipment, while others have an expertise of various issues or topics. You will gain wide experience with different facilities and installations, and the possibility to develop a multidiscipline understanding. At GOTE you will also have the possibility to get an in-depth understanding within your profession, speciality or focus area.”
