Subsurface – Reservoir and Production Technology - summer internship opportunities
Reservoir and Production Engineer interns will join the Subsurface network of approximately 1600 professionals across the company. Subsurface ensures that Equinor finds, matures, and manages its hydrocarbon resources in a profitable, competitive, safe, and energy-efficient manner.
What projects or tasks could I work on?
Our summer interns will work on multiple tasks across the business. Work tasks may vary according to your competence profile, assignment and business needs.
You will be involved in exciting and challenging tasks related to:
- Basin, Play & Petroleum System Analysis
- Prospect Evaluation & Maturation
- Well Planning and Operations
- Reservoir evaluation, characterization and modelling / simulation
- Production optimisation and prognoses
- Data analytics & digitalisation
New times require new ways of working, and multidisciplinary teamwork and programming have increased focus in our daily work. The challenge for you will be to help develop Equinor in a changing energy landscape.

Who can apply?
We’re looking for interns from the following degree subjects and disciplines:
- Petroleum Technology (reservoir and production technology)
- Chemical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electronics, Cybernetics, and Automation
- Computer Science
- Mathematics or Physics
- Other scientific lines of university study
Additional education in areas such as technology, information technology, economics, and management are also relevant.
Which locations could I be based at?
Interns in this area could be assigned to any of the following locations:
Norway (Stavanger, Bergen, Stjørdal, Harstad, Oslo).
