We energise the lives of 170 million people. Every day.

We are committed to turning natural resources into energy for people and progress for society worldwide. Equinor is a broad energy company, leveraging strong synergies between oil, gas, renewables, carbon capture and hydrogen.

A recording of Equinor’s Autumn Conference 2021 is available here.

Here’s why electrification is an effective climate measure

Electrification means replacing fossil-fuels based power supplies to platforms with renewable energy, from shore or offshore wind turbines. We are committed to reducing emissions from our offshore oil & gas production.

The energy transition is already underway. But can we act fast enough?

Today, two-thirds of Europe’s energy system is based on fossil fuels. If the world is going to stop global warming, CO2 emissions have to be drastically reduced. By 2030, over 50% of Equinor’s investments are planned to be within renewables and low carbon solutions.

We’re building the world’s largest offshore windfarm: Dogger Bank

Dogger Bank breaks the bounds of what size an offshore wind farm can be. Soon, this giant sandbank off the coast of the UK will be the site of the world’s largest offshore wind farm, capable of providing energy to five million British homes.

Find out about our hydrogen projects

Hydrogen will be a key contributor to the energy transition. Equinor is participating in several significant hydrogen projects.

Equinor’s ambition is to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.

Our new ambition includes emissions from production and final consumption of energy, setting a clear strategic direction and demonstrating our continued commitment to long-term value creation supporting the Paris Agreement.
