Equinor Technology Ventures and Techstars Co-Lead Investment into Nanotechnology Company
Interface Fluidics Limited secures USD 4.5 million in Series A funding - The funds will be used to accelerate the development and commercialization of Interface Fluidics’ technology for use within the oil and gas industry.
Interface Fluidics is a Calgary based laboratory service company with a nanotechnology platform for optimizing oil production and visualizing fluid-fluid interactions, through rapid chemical testing at reservoir temperature and pressure. Nanofluidic technology provides the opportunity to study reservoir flow and PVT studies by using analogues made of micro or nanosized materials.
A project is currently ongoing with Equinor TPD R&T, that has the aim of validating the microfluidic oil and gas analysis platform developed by Interface Fluidics for use in Minimum Miscibility Pressure, Asphaltene Onset Pressure, Diffusion, Nanoconfined Bubble Point and Wax Appearance Temperature testing.
Interface Fluidics Limited is one of the ten companies that graduated from the Techstars Energy accelerator in December 2018. This program is a collaboration between Equinor and Techstars, and two other partner companies.
