CMD in swing

June 12, 2003, 11:00 CEST

Representatives from capital market players were welcomed this morning, 12 June, to Statoil’s second annual Capital Markets Day (CMD) event in the IB centre at the Stavanger head office.

The programme opened with a thematic presentation of Norwegian tax policy, followed by a report on how Statoil handles corporate risk.

Before lunch Terje Overvik, executive vice president for Technology, reported on the way the group uses technology to create value.

The afternoon will be devoted to presentations of Statoil’s targets and how these are to be attained.

Following a brief introduction, chief executive Olav Fjell will report on the group’s strategic objectives in the short, medium and long terms.

Presentations will then be made by executive vice presidents Inge K Hansen, Richard J Hubbard, Henrik Carlsen, Peter Mellbye and Erling Øverland.

A panel discussion is also on the afternoon programme, allowing the audience to put direct questions on the group’s goals and strategies to members of the corporate executive committee.

The programme will be rounded off with a summation of the day’s proceedings by Mr Fjell.
