The conference theme was “leadership in the transition to low carbon” and was a joint event hosted by the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, the International Energy Agency (IEA) and Equinor.
The Autumn Conference 2020 was opened by Reidar Gjærum, Senior Vice President Corporate Communication, Equinor and moderated by Dr Nashater Deu Solheim.
The conference theme is “leadership in the transition to low carbon.” Dr Fatih Birol, Executive Director, IEA presented the 2020 World Energy Outlook. After interviews with Minister of Petroleum and Energy Tina Bru and Anders Opedal, President and CEO, Equinor, they were joined by Dr Birol in a dialogue on what it will take to transition the energy sector — to get where we need to be by 2050.
IEA’s World Energy Outlook is among the world’s most authoritative sources of projections and insight into trends in the global energy market. This year’s edition was published on 13 October, and as usual key highlights from the report will be presented at the Autumn Conference.
The speakers are IEA Executive Director, Dr Fatih Birol, Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Tina Bru, and CEO Equinor ASA, Anders Opedal.
