This development embraces the Stær and Svale discoveries in block 6608/10, which are satellites to Equinor’s Norne field. The production licence was awarded in 1986.
Stær is five kilometres north of Norne and has been developed with two subsea templates tied back to the Norne production ship.
Svale lies 10 kilometres to the north of Norne and is being produced through a single seabed template, also tied back to the vessel.
Gas as from the Norne ship is injected in the wells in order to reduce wellstream density and increase production.
The wellstream from the two satellites is carried through a single pipeline to the Norne ship for processing, with the oil loaded into shuttle tankers along with crude from the main field.
Urd’s rich gas is exported together with production from Norne through the Åsgard Transport system to Kårstø north of Stavanger for further processing.
Location: Block 6608/10 in the Norwegian Sea.
Production start: 8 November 2005
Production: Oil
