We are committed to transparency and have engaged broadly in the community and beyond. After we became the owner and operator of the exploration permit in June 2017, we travelled across South Australia and beyond, meeting with interested groups.
We spoke to hundreds of individuals and organisations during this process and attended more than 400 meetings with nearly 200 organisations.
This gave us an opportunity to listen to people on the ground and to learn about local issues and answered questions about our plans.
Engagement with communities
We engaged broadly with the community to provide information about our company and our plan to drill the Stromlo 1 exploration well.
Consultation with relevant persons
Consultation with Relevant Persons is a legal requirement under Regulation 11A of the OPGGS(E) Regulations 2009. Equinor must provide all relevant persons with sufficient information to allow them to make an informed assessment of how our planned operations might impact their functions, interests or activities. A fair amount of time was allowed for them to respond and for consultation to occur.
