ETV enters into a LOOP agreement with Interface Fluidics
Interface Fluidics Limited is one of the Techstars Energy accelerator companies from 2018 that provides an advanced nanotechnology platform for laboratory experiments.
Interface Fluidics is a Calgary and Edmonton based start-up company established in 2015, with a micro- and nanotechnology platform for optimizing oil production and visualizing fluid-fluid interactions, allowing rapid testing of chemical performance and fluid properties at reservoir temperature, pressure, and confinement.
The objective of the project is to pilot test and validate Interface’s experimental methodologies for future deployment into producing assets. There are two main goals for the testing. The first is to deliver high-quality fluid property data on fluids which Equinor will compare with existing vendors’ traditional testing methods. The second goal is to qualify the methods developed by Interface Fluidics for multi-use in Equinor.
The project has the aim of validating the microfluidic oil and gas analysis platform developed by Interface Fluidics for use in Minimum Miscibility Pressure, Asphaltene Onset Pressure, Diffusion, Nanoconfined Bubble Point and Wax Appearance Temperature testing. The agreement is a collaboration between ETV and R&T.
