Douglas Caskie is an advisor to Masdar, the Abu Dhabi Government’s multi-faceted renewable energy company. He has 18 years’ experience of project appraisal, development and asset management in the conventional and renewable energy industries, holding positions with international project developers, Government organisations and in consultancy.
Most recently Douglas was a director of the Dudgeon wind farm, a 402MW offshore wind farm in the UK; and of Hywind Scotland, the world’s first commercial scale floating wind farm. He is currently leading the Masdar team on their collaboration with Statoil on the Batwind battery storage project. He holds an MA in Economic Science from the University of Aberdeen, where he specialised in Natural Resource and Environmental Economics.
