Digitalisation is changing our company

Equinor’s strategy is based on three pillars; always safe, high value and low carbon. To reach our ambitious goals we need to stay in the forefront of digitalisation, implementing and creating value from new digital tools. By collaborating across industries and harnessing the possibilities that technology offer, we will create the best energy solutions for today, tomorrow and in the future.

Is there room for human workers in our digital world?

New digital tools are altering the way we live and work. In Equinor, we see big opportunities growing from this technological transformation. Opportunities that will change our perspectives, support higher precision and quality in our work, and free up time and creativity to delve into the more challenging parts of the job.

It’s impossible to know exactly how digitalisation will change our society and our industry in the future. But we know there will always be a place for human minds and skills.

Already we are seeing great results from the collaboration between our software developers and subsurface teams. By harnessing vast quantities of data, software developers are increasing efficiency and limiting down time, allowing the workers to do their job in a safer and more sustainable way.

It’s the ability to combine people and technology that will create advantages in the years to come. Here are a few examples:
