The jacket for Statoil's Huldra platform will be built by Aker Verdal under a NOK 250 million contract awarded today.
Construction of the steel structure begins next June at the company's Verdal yard in mid-Norway. Its Aker Engineering affiliate will start design work around the end of the year.
Due to weigh 5 200 tonnes, the 150-metre-tall jacket is scheduled to be ready for installation on the North Sea gas and condensate field in the spring of 2000.
