Siri platform named
The production platform for Statoil's Siri field in the Danish North Sea was named in Stavanger today.
Synnøve Lycik from Statoil Efterforskning & Produktion (E&P) in Denmark acted as sponsor for the platform at the ceremony in the Kværner Rosenberg yard. She is the longest-serving secretary at Statoil's upstream team in Copenhagen.
E&P head Svein G Larsen thanked everyone who had been involved in the Siri project in block 5604, and said that the development is on schedule. He added that Statoil is well satisfied with the quality of the work done so far.
Built by Kværner Oil & Gas, the jack-up unit is due to be towed from the yard to the Gands Fjord near Stavanger on 22 September for lowering and testing of its three legs.
Preparations will also be made for the tow-out to the field, which is scheduled to start on 1 October if the weather permits. The aim is to have Siri on stream on 11 November.
