Number one with students

June 28, 1999, 10:00 CEST

Norwegian students have proclaimed Statoil as the best place to work in Norway for the second year in a row.

The group emerges from the Norwegian graduate survey for 1999 as the clear front runner among the top 50 employers for newly-qualified economists and engineers.

Carried out by Swedish analyst Universum, the survey polled 1,663 final-year students at 17 universities and colleges in Norway on the company they would most like to work for after graduation.

Engineers put Norsk Hydro and Kværner in second and third place respectively, while the economists see Andersen Consulting and the Bank of Norway as their prime alternatives to Statoil.

The survey is covered in issue 12/13 of the Norwegian financial journal Økonomisk Rapport.
