New head of corporate staff functions

Inge K Hansen has been appointed executive vice president for corporate staff functions in Statoil, and will join the group's corporate management team.

Aged 53, Mr Hansen is an MBA from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen and has pursued a career in industry, banking and finance.

He has been president of Orkla Finance since 1994, and previously spent nine years with Bergen Bank and its successor Den norske Bank.

During this time, Mr Hansen's duties for a five-year period included responsibility for the bank's oil and energy commitments.

Mr Hansen is married with three children. He will take up his position with Statoil at a date to be determined later.
