Statoil Magazine won first prize in the classes for best design and best photograph in Europe’s biggest competition for company publications.

The competition is an annual event held under the direction of the British Association of Communicators in Business (CiB). The award ceremony took place in Newport, Wales on Friday 11 May.

Statoil Magazine topped the list in the category for best design with issue number 2/2000. The photograph accompanying the report from a school for visually impaired children in Moldova (No 1/2000) secured victory in the category for best photograph.

The jury had this to say about the winning photograph: “This is a first class example of a photograph doing a perfect job. The message is conveyed clearer than a thousand words”. The photograph was taken by Statoil photographer Arvid Steen.

The magazine, which changed its design and look last year, was awarded the silver diploma in the class for best redesigned publication. In addition, it won silver in the class for photo editing.

Around 1,200 works from Europe’s largest business magazines were judged in this prestigious competition.
