Helicopter contracts awarded

Contracts worth NOK 535 million for air transport services to fields in the Norwegian Sea have been awarded by Statoil to CHC Helikopter Service and Norsk Helikopter.

The first of these companies will fly from Kristiansund in mid-Norway under a NOK 315 million deal, which runs for three years from 1 July with options for two more years.

Awarded in cooperation with Norske Shell and Norsk Hydro, this contract covers passenger flights to and from Heidrun, Åsgard, Njord and Draugen.

Norsk Helikopter will fly from Brønnøysund in northern Norway to Norne under its NOK 220 million contract, which runs for five years from 1 May 2002 with an option for one year’s renewal.
