Diver sustains a minor injury on Sture

A diver was sent to Haukeland hospital after a work accident at the Sture terminal on Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred at 09.50 during work in a water tank in the Sture terminal premises onshore.

The diver was going to work on a pump that had been shutdown in the tank, but was sucked in towards an adjoining water intake. The intake was covered with a grille, and he sustained injuries to his head.

He received help promptly and was soon out of the tank and in the fire station at Sture. He remained conscious after the accident. He was fetched by helicopter ambulance and taken to Haukeland hospital in Bergen. The hospital has reported that he has sustained minor injuries.
