Major profiling campaign to mark Hydro's centennial year

Advertising agency DDB has landed the contract for a major profiling campaign for Hydro in Norway. The campaign will form part of Hydro's centennial activities.

"The objective of the campaign is to show that Hydro has created significant wealth for Norway during the last 100 years, and that the company will continue to do so for many years to come," says Eva S. Mellgren, who is responsible for brand communications in Hydro.

"We want the Norwegian people to be proud of our expertise and what we contribute, even beyond Norway's borders," she says.

According to Mellgren, DDB were chosen because the agency presented an exciting and flexible concept, which can be utilized in various media channels.

"The concept provides a good platform which we can build on over time," says Mellgren.

"We are extremely proud and happy that Hydro chose us. It's going to be very exciting being part of developing and strengthening Hydro as a brand, a company that has been setting the pace of Norwegian industrial development for a whole century," says DDB's Director Kirsti-Lill Evang.

The first elements of the campaign, the most comphrensive in Hydro's history, will be visible from August 2005.
