Prestigious award to Hydro.com

March 31, 2006, 01:30 CEST

Hydro's website www.hydro.com has won first prize in the Farmand competition for best web site in 2006 among listed companies in Norway.

Ever since 1955 the Farmand Prize has been awarded to the Norwegian listed company producing the best and most complete annual report. After Farmand magazine ceased publication in 1989, the business biweekly Økonomisk Rapport took over as secretariate for the prestigious prize. It was in this tradition that the "Farmand Prize for Best Website 2006" was awarded at a ceremony in Oslo on Thursday evening. The various Farmand prizes were presented by Minister of Trade and Industry, Odd Eriksen.

Excellent menu system

The jury behind the "Farmand Prize for Best Website 2006" said that Hydro's website has an unusually effective menu system and describes it as easy-to-understand and innovative, with excellent functionality.

"The company's history is told in an excellent way. Much useful financial information is presented about the company, with continuous updating of the share price from both the Norwegian and the New York Stock exchanges," the jury said.

Inspiration

Receiving the award on Hydro's behalf was Tone Dahle, editor-in-chief of hydro.com.

"This award is an enormous inspiration to us to continue the work with developing our website," she commented.

Second and third prizes in the competition for best website among listed companies were Orkla and Statoil respectively.

Prizes for websites in the categories of e-business and non-listed companies were also awarded, to MyTravel and BKK respectively.
