The Ekofisk license operates 16 installations that are producing from the Ekofisk, Eldfisk and Embla fields. In recent years, the production platforms 2/4M (2011) and 2/4Z (2013) have come on stream on the Ekofisk field.
The world’s largest offshore living quarter, 2/4L, was commissioned in 2014.
The water injecting subsea templates 2/4VA and 2/4VB were installed in 2010 and 2012, respectively. A new field center, 2/7S, was installed on the Eldfisk field in 2014 and handed over to operations in 2015. These new installations will contribute to extend the fields lifetime beyond the license period expiring in 2028.
The Ekofisk license exports oil to Teesside in the UK and gas to Emden in Germany. The export infrastructure Norpipe is also used by other fields in the area.
