The storage ship under construction by a yard in Spain for Statoil's Åsgard development in the Norwegian Sea is due to be completed in April.
Astilleros Españoles Sestao outside Bilbao will be carrying out a series of tests before this Åsgard C vessel sets sail for Norway.
Before the ship can take its position on the field, final work will be carried out in the Åmøy Fjord near Stavanger.
The vessel is due to be tied back around 1 June to the Åsgard B gas and condensate platform, reports Ola Bjelland, project manager for building the ship.
Åsgard B itself is scheduled to be towed from Kværner's Rosenberg yard in Stavager to the field during April.
The C ship will be ready to accept and store condensate from the gas platform around 1 July.
Measuring 264 metres long, the vessel belongs to Knutsen OAS Shipping in Haugesund north of Stavanger and has been constructed as a shuttle tanker with a storage capacity of 868,000 barrels.
