The official inauguration of Statoil's Veslefrikk field in the North Sea, which has so far yielded almost 229 million barrels of oil, took place 10 years ago on 23 March 1990.
"We're currently flowing roughly 47,175 barrels per day, and everything is on track," says platform manager Tore Bech.
The field originally came on stream around 1 January 1990, and production figures have so far stuck to the forecasts in the original plan for development and operation.
Veslefrikk's B platform is currently being modified to accept and process condensate from Statoil's Huldra development. This work is due to continue for another 18 months, says Mr Bech.
