Prosafe Drilling Services will continue to drill on the Heidrun field in the Norwegian Sea. Operator Statoil has exercised a one-year extension option with the company.
"Prosafe will carry out platform drilling on Heidrun for a further year commencing on 1 June 2002. The assignment is worth around NOK 100 million,” reports Øyvind Hansen, special adviser for contracts in the operations support unit.
The contract includes two one-year extension options.
Between five and seven wells are drilled annually from the Heidrun platform, according to Gunnar G Opsahl, head of drilling and well operations on the field.
Prosafe has carried out platform drilling on Heidrun since 1996.
