Norsk Hydro and its partners on the Oseberg oil and gas field in the North Sea have decided to build a new compressor module on the Oseberg C platform.
The unit will increase the platform's gas handling capacity from 5 to 8.5 million cubic meters per day, accelerate oil production and augment overall oil recovery on the Oseberg field.
The project's total budget is NOK 591 million (USD 66 million). The new compression unit will be installed on the platform in summer 2003.
Project development has been done in close cooperation with the supplier industry, which started participating in the very early stages to ensure high quality and the fastest possible completion.
