A tanker driver employed by Statoil Ireland was killed in a traffic accident on the morning of 11 October.
The accident occurred about 120 kilometres north of the Irish capital, Dublin, when the driver was heading for a customer with a consignment of diesel oil. No other vehicles were involved.
âWe have received this sad message with great sorrow, and our thoughts go to the victimâs family.â says Sten Ă ke Forsberg, senior vice president for retailing in Manufacturing & Marketing.
He reports that Statoil will be appointing an internal commission of inquiry to clarify the sequence of events in the accident and its cause.
