PipeCare doubles workforce

Staff at pipeline technology specialist PipeCare, wholly owned by Statoil, is being doubled to market solutions and services in this area.

Numerous enquiries are being received by operators and engineering companies world-wide who are interested in using its services, reports president Ola Nestaas.

The company currently has four employees with substantial expertise on testing, readying, inspecting, maintaining, repairing, starting up and operating pipelines.

It now intends to strengthen the commercial side in sales and marketing.

PipeCare was established as a limited company by Statoil in March 2001, and has offices in association with the processing complex at Kårstø north of Stavanger.

The rights to a range of solutions developed by Statoil for tie-in and condition monitoring of varying pipeline sizes have been transferred to PipeCare for commercialisation.
