A fuel supply contract worth about NOK 1 billion has been won by the Statoil Norge energy sales subsidiary from the Fjord1 Nordvestlandske transport group in western Norway.
Running for four years with a one-year renewal option, this deal covers the delivery of some 60 million litres of gas oil, special distillate and diesel oil per year.
They will be supplied to ferries, passenger ships and the Mørebil bus company in Volda. Other members of the Fjord1 group can also join the contract as existing delivery agreements expire.
âIn delivering these products over many years to two of our ferry operators, Statoil has shown that it is service-minded, credible and serious,â says Fjord1 chief executive Olav Smørdal.
âWe are accordingly very pleased that the group submitted the best tender for this contract.â
Sales vice president Hans Olav Høidahl at Statoil Norge emphasises that the Fjord1 group is one of its large and important customers.
âWeâre proud of this contract and the good feedback weâve received so far. Competition over customers is very tough, and price is important.
âBut delivery precision, product quality and customer follow-up on a day-to-day basis also play a key role. Weâre now going to live up over coming years to the confidence placed in us.â
