Hydro, on behalf of the Ormen Lange owners, has awarded Midsund Bruk two contracts to build process equipment for separating oil, gas and water at Ormen Lange's onshore gas processing plant at Nyhamna, Mid-Norway.
Under the contracts, a total of 16 large process tanks - each weighing up to 90 metric tons - will be built, at a total contract value of approximately NOK 70 million. The deliveries from Midsund Bruk, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aker Yards, are scheduled for the fall of 2005.
Hydro is operator for Ormen Lange during the development phase, including all field development, the gas processing plant at Nyhamna, as well as the export pipeline project â Langeled.
Ormen Langeâs untreated wellstream will be transported onshore in two 120 km long, 30â flowlines. At Nyhamna the gas will be processed, before being exported in a 1,200 km long pipeline to Easington in the UK.
