     <p>A contract worth NOK 180-240 million covering maintenance of deck cranes on the Norwegian continental shelf has been awarded by Statoil to National Oilwell Norway.</p> 
     <p>This job also covers a range of activities relating to the 47 cranes delivered by National Oilwell to the group’s installations on the NCS.<br><br> These assignments include operational support, spare parts, modifications, overhauling equipment components and training.<br><br> The contract runs for four years, with options for three additional periods of the same duration, and provides Statoil with access to qualified personnel and spare parts.<br><br> “Work will carried out in cooperation with Statoil personnel responsible for periodic preventive maintenance,” says production engineer Birger Helle.<br><br> He is Statoil’s representative for following up the contract, and explains that National Oilwell employees will be called in for heavier maintenance jobs and identification of faults.</p>
