     <p>Statoil’s hopes of resuming production from Snorre A and its Vigdis satellite towards the end of the week have been frustrated by weather problems and the need for more topside checks.</p> 
     <p>The group had announced on 21 December that the platform could be back on stream by the weekend if the remaining activities were completed on schedule.</p> 
     <p>“Bad weather has prevented us from carrying out the necessary inspection of the subsea template,” explains Arne Cock, vice president for Snorre operations.</p> 
     <p>“At the same time, work on installing a topside Xmas tree has exposed weaknesses which need further investigation.”</p> 
     <p>These activities will continue towards the New Year, and Statoil will accordingly make a new announcement later on a start-up date.</p> 
     <p>The group is in good, close dialogue with the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway over the remaining work.</p>
