Hydro has awarded Aker Kværner Offshore Partners AS an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for modifications of the Troll C platform for connection and processing of oil from the Fram Øst field in the North Sea.
The contract comprises modifications of the separator, water treatment system and pumps for the injection of produced water. Contract value is approximately NOK 265 million.
Fram Øst is located 19 km north of the Troll field in 360 meters of water. It will be developed as a subsea satellite with five oil producers and two wells for water injection, tied into the Troll C platform. Production start up is planned for October 2006.
Partners in the Fram licence are Norsk Hydro Produksjon a.s (operator) with a share of 25 %, Mobil Development Norway AS with 25 %, Statoil ASA with 20 %, Gaz de France Norge AS with 15 % and Idemitsu Petroleum Norge AS with 15 %.
