Two frame agreements worth roughly NOK 580 million for downhole services on the Norwegian continental shelf have been extended by Statoil with Aker Kvaerner and Smedvig.
Worth some NOK 480 million, the contract with Aker embraces wirelining, plugging and the use of well tractors, and covers a number of fields.
These are Statfjord, Gullfaks, Tordis, Vigdis, Visund and Snorre in the Tampen area of the North Sea, Heidrun and Norne in the Norwegian Sea and Snøhvit in the Barents Sea.
Aker Kvaerner subsidiary Maritime Well Services will do the actual work. Statoil also has an option to extend this deal for a further two years.
The agreement with Smedvig Offshore covers wirelining as well as options for other downhole services and for a further two-year extension.
Worth just over NOK 100 million, it covers the Sleipner fields, Veslefrikk, Troll Gas and Kvitebjørn in the North Sea, Åsgard and Kristin in the Norwegian Sea, as well as exploration drilling.
