Valve contract goes to Bjørge Solberg & Andersen

December 20, 2005, 10:00 CET

Hydro has awarded the Bergen firm Bjørge Solberg & Andersen a contract for maintenance and reconditioning of valves at offshore installations and at the oil terminal Sture. If optional extension periods are included, the contract will be worth around 200 million Norwegian kroner.

The contract means that Bjørge Solberg & Andersen will be responsible for repairs and maintenance at all Hydro-operated installations on the Norwegian continental shelf, as well as at the Sture terminal.

The Bergen company has, incidentally, held a corresponding valve contract with Hydro for the last nine years.

Over a period of three years, the value of the contract will amount to around 60 million Norwegian kroner. The contract includes the option of three further periods, of two years each.

If all the optional extension periods are completed, the contract will have a total value of around 200 million Norwegian kroner.

The contract period commences on 1 February 2006.
