Torvund re-elected OLF board chair

Head of the Oil & Energy business area in Hydro, executive vice president Tore Torvund, has been re-elected chairman of the board at the Norwegian Oil Industry Association (OLF).

The election took place at OLF's general assembly in Stavanger on Thursday afternoon. The term lasts for one year.

OLF is a professional body and employer's association for oil and supplier companies active in the exploration and production of oil and gas on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Members include 31 oil companies and 52 oil industry supplier companies. The organization represents about 24,000 full-time jobs. OLF is a member of the Confederation of Norwegian Business and Industry (NHO).

Tore Torvund has been OLF's chairman of the board since fall 2003. He was a board member for two years prior.

In addition to re-electing the board chairman, four board members were re-elected for two year terms - Kathy Pepper, ExxonMobil; Terje Overvik, Statoil; Jorunn Sætre, Halliburton; and Rolf Leknes, Weatherford.
