Heading for Europe's largest hydrogen and fuel cell exhibition

April 10, 2007, 15:30 CEST

Hydro will demonstrate a wide spectrum of electrolysers at this year's Hannover fair. The event is held 16-20 April and features Europe's largest exhibition for hydrogen and fuel cells.

Hydro has extensive experience in the development of water electrolysers â€“ dating clear back to 1927. The atmospheric electrolyser’s simple and well-documented design guarantees low energy consumption, safe and reliable operation and minimal maintenance costs.

This year Hydro will display a broad range of electrolysers, from one that delivers 10 standard cubic meters hydrogen per hour (Nm3/h) to the largest electrolyser that delivers 485 Nm3/h.

Continuous development

Hydro is steadily developing its electrolyser technology. Two large projects are currently underway: the development of the compact InergonÂŽ PEM electrolyser and a new large pressure electrolyser, HPE30. Both have a goal of redefining electrolyser technology. Like the atmospheric model, these products are known for their simple and safe operation, high hydrogen purity and possibility for remote-control of the electrolyser. The new models will additionally become known for ample flexibility and reduced space requirements.

Hydro's display stand at the Hannover fair be found in Hall 13, Stand 32/2, within the "Hydrogen + Fuel Cells” group exhibition.

Typical applications for hydrogen are:

  • Protective atmosphere in the production of window glass, the steel industry and electronics industry
  • Hydrogenation
  • Generator cooling in power production and corrosion protection in nuclear power plants
  • Chemical industry
  • As an energy carrier in the transport sector and autonomous renewable energy systems
