A condensate leak at Statoil's Kollsnes gas treatment plant near Bergen was quickly brought under control on the evening of 10 June.
A full alarm was sounded when the light oil was found to be leaking from the pipeline which links Kollsnes with Norsk Hydro's nearby Sture terminal.
Total capacity in this line is just over 500 barrels, but it remains uncertain how much condensate had escaped before Statoil shut down the flow.
Booms were quickly mobilised at the leak site to contain the spill. How long the clean-up operation will take is unclear.
Gas production through the Kollsnes plant is continuing today (11 June), but at a reduced volume.
