November 27, 2003, 15:00 CET

Executive vice president Tore Torvund in Hydro Oil and Energy was elected the new chairperson of the Norwegian Oil Industry Association (OLF) at the associations general meeting on 26 November.

"The OLF's main tasks are promoting reduced tax rates for new oil fields and access to new areas," says Torvund. He also led Kon-kraft's tax project, which submitted its report to the government authorities this autumn.

Torvund has been a board member in OLF for two years, and will take over as chairperson from Hugo Sandal, who has held the post since 1999.

The general meeting also approved a new management structure and organizational changes for OLF.

"We want to make OLF a stronger organization with greater impact," says Torvund.
