     <p>A gas sales agreement covering the delivery of up to 1.4 billion cubic metres per year has been concluded by Statoil with Dutch energy company Essent.</p> 
     <p>These volumes will be supplied via Statoil’s terminal at Emden in Germany for a period of roughly five years starting at the end of this year. Statoil is to deliver a total of about 6.5 billion cubic metres over the period.<br><br> “We’re pleased to have put this contract in place,” says Jan Schøpp, the group’s gas marketing manager for the Benelux area.<br><br> “It shows that we’re continuing to strengthen our position in the European gas market.”<br><br> Essent will supply its end-user portfolio with this gas which forms part of its increasing international gas sourcing.<br><br> Statoil and Essent have also concluded gas sales agreements on earlier occasions.</p>
