Statoil does not accept fine for lack of remote measurement

December 20, 2013, 11:59 CET

The fine is based on an alleged failure by Statoil to monitor its own activity through remote measurement to detect pollution and take required action.

"After a thorough evaluation we have decided not to accept this fine, because we cannot see that we, based on the case documents, have breached regulations," says Øystein Arvid Håland, senior vice president for the operations North Sea West cluster in Statoil.
