This contract includes options for further work, and the company has also won the job of providing technical services and operations support for the system.
The seabed template is due to be delivered in March 2003, with the whole subsea installation scheduled for completion on the field by September 2004.
“FMC Kongsberg Subsea is one of three suppliers covered by our new frame agreements for such equipment,” explains procurement manager Thor Christian Andvik in the Alpha North project team.
The field is due to deliver condensate and gas from 1 October 2004 via an 18-kilometre pipeline tied back to Statoil’s Sleipner T platform on Sleipner East.
Condensate will be piped through the existing line to the Kårstø treatment complex north of Stavanger, with the lean gas transported to continental Europe in the Sleipner pipeline system.
Statoil has 49.5 per cent of Alpha North, with ExxonMobil holding 32.24 per cent, TotalFinaElf 9.41 per cent and Norsk Hydro 8.85 per cent.
