Board appoints defence lawyer

The board of Statoil ASA has appointed Anders Ryssdal as defence lawyer for the company in the Horton case.

Mr Ryssdal will assist the company in assessing the further process for this case.

He is a partner in the Oslo law firm Wiersholm, Mellbye & Bech. Mr Ryssdal has extensive experience of handling major, complex cases and has had a number of large assignments for Statoil earlier. His law practice also covers cases of financial crime.

Mr Ryssdal will start his work for Statoil immediately.
