     The spill occurred when the tanker <em>Navion Britannia</em> was loading oil from a loading buoy.
     <br>
     <br> NOFO (the Norwegian Clean Seas Association for Operating Companies) has been notified about the spill and is preparing emergency actions.
     <br>
     <br> An aircraft from the&nbsp;Norwegian Coastal Administration&nbsp;and a helicopter have been deployed to determine the extent of the discharge.
     <br>
     <br> The wind speed at Statfjord is currently around 45 knots in northern direction and the wave height is up to 7 metres.
     <br>
     <br> The Statfjord field is located around 200 kilometres west of Bergen, close to the border of the UK continental shelf.
     <br>

During oil offloading from the Statfjord A platform in the North Sea, about 4,000 standard cubic metres of crude oil was spilled into the sea this morning, 12 December.
