Investment scams

Equinor is experiencing that both individuals and organisations are targeting potential investors by attempting to commit financial fraud.

Please note that Equinor will never reach out to individuals with unsolicited investment offers.

Our shares are listed exclusively on the Oslo Børs (Oslo Stock Exchange) and the New York Stock Exchange. We do not engage in trading on alternative marketplaces.

Precautions to take

Before purchasing shares, please be vigilant. Here are some common warning signs of investment scams:

  • Fake social media pages: Be wary of accounts that impersonate Equinor and solicit investments.
  • Fraudulent links: Avoid clicking on links that lead to dubious offers, especially those related to cryptocurrency.
  • Too good to be true: Promises of high returns with little risk in a short timeframe are major red flags.

What to do if you suspect a scam

If you receive unsolicited business propositions or offers from unfamiliar individuals, we urge you to:

  • Do not respond: Avoid engaging with the sender.
  • Report it: Contact your local police authorities and provide them with any information you have about the sender, including email addresses and phone numbers.
