Tjeldbergodden turnaround over

September 24, 1998, 09:00 CEST

The first turnaround at Statoil's Tjeldbergodden methanol plant in mid-Norway was completed on Tuesday.

Production from the facility will resume in late September/early October, reports vice president Hugo Haldorsen.

A total of 30, 000 direct hours were worked during the turnaround, which lasted roughly three weeks. Maintenance jobs have been done by 250 people from 35 different companies.

The work was completed without lost-time injuries and on schedule.

"We paid particular attention to the process equipment during the shut-down," Mr Haldorsen says. The plant is now due to operate continuously until its next turnaround in the summer of 2000.
