     <p>The <em>Petrojarl I</em> production ship is in position on Statoil’s Glitne field in the North Sea after leaving the Åmøy Fjord outside Stavanger on 28 July.</p> 
     <p>After the mooring system and risers have been connected up, the vessel is due to come on stream during August.</p> 
     <p>Glitne will yield some 40,000 barrels of oil per day at plateau level, which should be reached within one-two months of starting production.</p> 
     <p>The field contains roughly 25 million barrels of oil, making it Norway’s smallest producing discovery. It has an estimated production life of two-three years, depending on oil price trends.</p> 
     <p>Petroleum Geo Services, which owns <em>Petrojarl I</em>, will be responsible for operating Glitne.</p> 
     <p>The vessel has been modified at the Kværner yard in Stavanger, including the installation of two specially-built turbines to generate electricity from associated gas.</p> 
     <p>“All systems, processing plant and dynamic positioning equipment have been tested in the Åmøy Fjord,” says field installation manager Rolf Saltkjel.</p> 
     <p>He reports that these tests were as extensive as for a newbuilding.</p>
