Equinor - Guidelines for social media

Equinor has active profiles on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat and YouTube.

We use social media to keep you updated about us and our activities, and for recruitment purposes. If you choose to follow or like our social profiles, your personal data (such as your name and the fact that you are interested in Equinor) can be visible to people browsing your personal social profiles.

If you interact with our social profiles or content posted by us, we may receive personal data about you, such as your (user) name, profile photo, hometown, email address, phone number, gender (depending on your own privacy settings). Examples of interactions with our profiles include commenting on our posts, creating visitor posts or sending us a personal message.

We may use our followers as targeted audiences for marketing activities in social media.

We appreciate feedback and comments via social media and do not moderate comments/posts from our followers or general public before they are posted. However, we require that everything published on our profile pages, including feedback from our followers or the general public, follows our guidelines for social media. We will, without further notice, delete comments, posts or feedback of any kind that does not follow our guidelines.

Our social profiles should be platforms where everyone feels welcome and respected. Therefore, we ask everyone to respect the following:

  • Language – Be considerate, and do not use abusive language.
  • Show respect – We do not accept comments or posts that bother, threaten or in any other way disrespect others.
  • Images and videos – Usage of images, videos or other audio-visual material that is indecent or disrespectful to others is not tolerated. Remember that you must have consent from people that may be recognised in the material. Images and videos of minors are not allowed without parental consent.
  • Spam – We are interested in themes related to our business. Spam, including promotion of other profiles or brands, is not tolerated.

Comments, posts or other content that does not respect these terms and conditions can be removed by us without further notice. Serious violations can be followed up further.
