A 50 per cent holding in Statoil’s Norferm subsidiary has been acquired by DuPont Bio-Based Materials to support the continued development of this company.

Norferm operates the world’s only methane-based bioprotein plant, and the partnership with DuPont will provide access to heavyweight expertise on biotechnology research.

The Statoil company has built up solid operational experience with its production facility, which is located at Tjeldbergodden in western Norway.

Norferm produces protein additives in this plant to be used in feed for fish farms.
