On stream in the spring of 1999, this development embraces a floating production, drilling and quarters platform.
The subsea-completed wells on the field are tied back to the floater with flexible risers. Oil is piped to Gullfaks for storage and export. The Visund field began producing gas and exporting it to continental Europe on 7 October 2005.
Visund Sør is an oil and gas field consisting of the Pan and Pandora discoveries located 10 kilometres from both the Gullfaks C and Visund A-platforms. The field is developed by means of a subsea installation and is tied back to Gullfaks C for processing.
The Visund Sør volumes have been estimated at around 67 million barrels of oil equivalents.
Visund Sør started producing in November 2012.
Visund Nord is a oil and gas field located 10 kilometres from the Visund A platform. The field is developed by means of a subsea installation with two wells and is tied back to the Visund A platform.
The Visund Nord volumes have been estimated at around 29 million barrels of oil equivalents.
