On this page, Equinor provides Annex IX information in accordance with the requirements of the EU Methane Regulation for crude blends.

The information includes, among other things, details on the producer or exporter, methane measurement and reporting practices, and the application of methane mitigation measures such as Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR).

Equinor supports the EU’s objective to reduce methane emissions. To support customers importing crude blends from Equinor into an EU Member State, Equinor has developed and made available Annex IX information in line with the requirements of the EU Methane Regulation.

The information is updated annually and published on equinor.com. Making this information publicly available simplifies compliance for our customers, who can download and use it directly for reporting purposes without the need for separate requests.

About the EU Methane Regulation

The EU Methane Regulation (EU/2024/1787) entered into force in August 2024. It governs the measurement, monitoring, reporting, and verification of methane emissions related to crude oil, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and coal.

The Regulation also applies to methane emissions occurring outside the EU when these products are imported into the EU. Importers of fossil fuels are required to comply with the provisions set out in Annex IX, including the submission of specified information to the competent authority of the Member State in which they are established.
